Which is effective Banners Vs. Text Links? 3 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 1
On your personal experience, which advertising method between the banner and the text link is effective? I ask this because I personally don't click banners when I'm surfing the net I actually prefered to click text links..

But when you buy a spot for banner advertising the price is way too expensive than text links. While for text links you can list your site for a penny like www.linksmarketplace.com, you can actually bid on the links... I found this very cool.

Honestly, I hate advertisements, almost all sorts of advertising methods such as banner advertisements, popup advertisements and pop-under advertisements. It's space-consuming, bandwidth-hogging, distracting, and truly unfriendly to my everyday surfing experience. I'm sure others might think the same perspective.

However, I understand that advertising is important too, playing its role to keep the web spinning. Without advertising, there will be no free email, free web content, and free online services. As important as it gets, advertising has gone too far and caused problems among Internet users. Advertisements graphics are getting larger, not only in file size but also their dimensions. Popup advertisements are getting rude to clutter the screen until they distract the user's concentration. Advertisements tend to get more animated, causing various accessibility problems to visually-disabled people.

it depends on what niche you are advertising...
In internet marketing niche banner is not effective
as they have been thought that it is not effective.

For niches with target customers that have no clue
what are the advertising or not then banners maybe
effective.
